Think

Energy follows thought.

When does an idea become more than just a thought?

Have you ever said, “If we could just do ‘X’ things would be so much better.  We could run more efficiently, we could boost profits, we would be a stronger organization.”

You are sure you have the idea that will make the difference, but how do you turn that idea into reality?

Create

Create a plan.

This phase of the process is very important and most likely will take you the most time. Spend some time visualizing what the new whole will look like. Think about what you would need to do in order to build the vision. What are the steps that need to be completed, when would the steps need to be completed, how and who will do them. Assess current capabilities, identify where additional resources may be needed, then start writing it down. A well-developed plan and you can build almost anything.

We here at Sm Logo happen to find creating the most enjoyable phase of the process. Should you find yourself in need of assistance with your plan we would be more than happy to help.

Communicate

Share the vision.

When we were designing our logo and business cards our designer told us that the word communicate was too long, he asked us to come up with a smaller word.

There is a reason communicate is a long word, if you have not communicated your plan to everyone involved in making it happen, if you don’t have everyone attending to their piece of the puzzle, you are not going to be successful. It really is that simple.

Communication is the bridge that needs to be crossed to turn that idea into your organization’s new reality.

Do

Do it.

If you have done a good job completing the first three phases, think, create, and communicate, the 'doing' is the easy part! It is just a matter of execution at this point.  This is when you get to say, ‘Just do it.’

Review

Take a moment to reflect.

As you progress through the plan, it is important to take time for reflection. Review your progress and ask good questions.  Are you going in the direction you intended? Have you fallen behind? Have you had to take another path?  Could any thing have been done differently?  What have we learned in the process? How can it be done better the next time?

Think.
